About Isabel Jubes-Flamerich

Isabel Jubes-Flamerich is Vice President of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association (SCCSBA) and Chair of its Legislative Action Committee, where she leads efforts to advance policies that strengthen public education, equity, and student success. She also serves as President of the California Association of Latino Leaders in Education (CALLE), formerly the California Latino School Boards Association (CLSBA), providing statewide leadership and advocacy for California’s students, families, and communities.

Isabel currently serves as Vice President of the Sunnyvale School District Board of Education, after twice serving as Board President. During her tenure, she has led major initiatives in school facilities, funding, equity, sustainability, and community engagement, including successful campaigns for significant investments in local schools.

An architect, educator, multimedia designer, environmental advocate, and bilingual broadcaster, Isabel brings an interdisciplinary perspective to educational leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Venezuela, a minor in Computer Science, and a Master of Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of California, Berkeley, along with postgraduate studies and professional training in sustainability, education, governance, and public policy. She has taught architecture at the community-college level, integrated climate-responsive strategies into her design work, and hosted and produced hundreds of bilingual educational radio and podcast programs from Stanford University.

As an elected official and legislative advocate, Isabel has completed advanced governance training and works with local, state, and federal policymakers on issues affecting public education.

Her leadership is grounded in the belief that strong public schools are essential to thriving communities and that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed.
